Head to the unique Dolní Vítkovice site, where coal was mined and pig iron was produced between 1828 and 1998. Now this industrial complex has been transformed into a unique educational, cultural and social centre with international reach.
Like in a Jules Verne novel, you will find yourself in a unique world, often guided round by former employees of the ironworks. Among other things, they will take you inside the blast furnace, where you will be taken by the lift that used to transport iron ore and coke, or to the Bolt Tower lookout. It was built right on top of the furnace!
